Hello nature lover.....!

Deer Greens is a combination of annual rape, kale and turnip that will provide an abundant mass of green leafy plants that are very attractive to deer in the fall and winter months. Many hunters will add Deer Greens in small quantities (2 lbs. per acre) to a fall mixture of grass and clover to provide a fast growing, attractive component to their mixture. Deer Greens become even more attractive after a frost because the sugar content becomes more concentrated. Deer greens work well by themselves or make a great addition to a mixture.

Deer greens, if planted in the fall will grow through the winter period and return to full growth in the spring. Annual that dies out as summer approaches.

Deer Greens Seed Mixture is a mix of delicious tasteful greens, much like the greens we grow in our garden.  The Pennington Brand of Deer Greens contains three US grown and adapted leafy plants that Deer are extremely attracted to.  Unlike many of the high priced imported varieties, these seeds have been grown throughout the USA and are adapted to our soils and climates.

  • Simply broadcast the seed and watch it grow.

  • Easy to grow on most any type soil.

  • Contains green leafy plants that deer can't resist.

  • Lasts for an entire fall and winter season - Or plant in spring to provide healthy nutrition in the spring.

Two ways to plant:

  • TILL - For Best Results
    (1) Till or scratch soil to ensure seed to soil contact.
    (2) Broadcast seed mixture.
    (3) Rake over area to lightly cover the seed.

  • NO-TILL method:
    (1) Locate an area with bare ground or remove leaf cover to expose bare ground.
    (2)Broadcast seed.
    (3) Over time rainfall will push many of the seed in the ground enough for germination to occur on those seed.

Tips: Always pick a food plot location that receives sunlight at least 50% of the day.  Used Wild game Fertilizer (15-5-10) with lime to enhance the performance of food plots.  All food plots require adequate rainfall to germinate and thrive.  Your seed will generally like dormant until such time as sufficient moisture is present to start the germination process.
