Austrian Winter Peas
are cool season legumes that are similar to the growth
characteristics of English peas. They tend to have longer vines and
are planted in food plots with clovers such as Durana white clover
Ladinos and Alyce clover. They are also used with annual rye grass
to provide forage material plots during the winter months when many feeds are gone.
Austrian will
be one of the earliest spring crops left from the winter dormancy
period for wildlife to browse. Austrian Winter peas can
attract deer and turkey and will provide a high quality forage during the cooler
fall / winter seasons.
PLANTING RATES:
Plant at
the rate of 25 to 30 lb. per acre in the early fall.
